Dębno was an old settlement inhabited by the Slavic community. It received the municipal rights in the 16th century and since then an industrial and commercial development  took place. During the Poland’s twenty years of independence after World War I, Dębno became an attractive holiday resort due to the microclimate. Nowadays, it is a buoyant city, attractive because of its location. Dębno Commune is situated close to the Polish- German border, 90 km from Berlin. In view of clean air and a picturesque location amid forests and lakes, Dębno is a perfect place not only for practicing various sports, but also for outdoor recreation. There are plenty of  interesting places: the scenery of the Kosa River where you can find endangered species of birds; flood waters of the Myśla River; Lipowo Lake, Ostrowiec with the “Czapli Ostrów” nature reserve. What is more, there are 7 historic country parks. There are many other places worth visiting: the neo-Roman Church of St. Peter and St. Paul; small tenement houses in the style of German historicism in Armii Krajowej street and the row of secessionist tenement houses in Mickiewicza street; the building of Public Library.

There are many tourist attractions that are waiting for guests visiting Dębno Commune: excellently marked cycle lanes, clean lakes, scenic jogging routes.
We invite not only those of you who appreciate calm and quiet atmosphere, but also history and art lovers. The routes run through places that will enable you to acquaint yourself with the most valuable and the most interesting historical events, architectural monuments, nature monuments, as well as estate’s and palace parks.
Forests with a beautiful valley of the Myśla River and a protection zone of the Kosa River are spread out around Dębno. In the city there is also Lipowo Lake with a bathing beach. Near the southern border of the town, in the forest, there is Duszatyń Lake with a beach and a place for camping. Apart from this, the historic forester’s lodge from the year 1920 is located near the lake. In addition, a natural and didactic route runs around the lake. Since the year 1966, International Championship in Marathon is organized in Dębno.

TOURIST TRAILS:
Bicycle and canoe trails run through forests nearby the picturesque lakes and the beautiful Myśla River. Undoubtedly, it is conducive to active leisure: mushroom picking, hunting, fishing and water sports. In addition, rental of water equipment, bicycles and canoes is available for tourists who visit Dębno.

• Red trail – “Around Dębno” (about 25 km)
  Route: Dargomyśl – Duszatyń Lake – a bridge over the Myśla River – a paved road behind the Myśla River and then directly on the river – Mostno forester’s lodge – Łazy – Barnówko – Barnówko Lake III (so-called Twin Lake) –Dyszno railway station – the Kukadło pond – Grzymiradz – Choszczówko – Smolnica.
• Blue trail – “History and monuments” (about 30 km)
  Route: Sarbinowo – Chwarszczany – Gudzisz – Dargomyśl – Oborany – Dębno – Oborzany – Hajnówka – Smolnica – Czaple Lake – Promień Lake – Warnice.
• Yellow trail – “On the Kosa River” (about 25 km)
  Route: Dębno railway station – Lipowo Lake – the Kosa River – Barnówko Lake – Barnówko railway station – Barnówko Lake II (forest) – Barnówko forester’s lodge  - Barnówko Lake III (so-called Twin Lake) – the lane of oaks (nature monument) – Ostrowiec – Ostowieckie Lake – Różańsko – Rościn Krajeński railway station.
• Green trail – “Trail of forests and lakes” (about 25 km)
  Route: Wielkie Lake – Dzikie Lake – ponds in the Ścieniawica valley – Postne Lake - Borne forester’s lodge – Dolsk – Dolskie Lake – Zielin Lake – the Monument to Lithuanian Pilots– Pszczelnik railway station.
• Black trail: - “Nature reserves and monuments” (about 18 km)
  Route: Warnice – Krężelin – Dyszno – Ostrowieckie Lake – Ostrowiec – Dolsk.
• Canoeing trip on the Myśla River. The route starts in Lipiany, by the city beach at Wądół Lake, and then leads through Myślibórz , Dębno Commune and Boleszkowice till the mouth of the Myśla River and at this point it merges with planned routes on the Odra River.
