Almost the whole Chmielno Commune is a legally protected area due to the fact that it is situated within the borders of theKashubian Landscape Park. To some extent it is a link between the Mirachowskie Forests and forests of the south-east part of the Park. There are five nature monuments in the form of old trees. Two of them are worthy of special notice: 200 and 300 years old lindens in the village of Przewóz. There are a few areas especially valuable due to their nature. They are as follows: moist meadows, rushes, peat bogs, parts of forests and birch groves, willow bushes, beech forests around such places as Rzym, Borzestowska Huta, Garcz and Chmielno and such lakes as Nierzostowo, Raduńskie Dolne, Reskowskie, Białe and Rekowo.
