Nowa Sól Commune is located in the Middle Odra Region, the south–west area of the Lubuskie province and it is a part of  Nowosolski County. It borders on the town of Nowa Sól from the east, south and west side and covers an area of 176,2 sq. km. The commune consists of 18 villages and 23 countries which are: Lelechów, Stary Staw, Lubieszów, Rudno, Wrociszów, Ciepielów, Nowe Żabno, Kiełcz, Stara Wieś, Przyborów, Stany, Lipiny, Drogoniów, Chełmek, Radosławice, Lubięcin, Buczków, Stawy, Dąbrowno, Okopiec, Jeziorna, Jodłów and Józefów.

These regions are a real paradise for those who love to commune with nature. Neither anglers, horse lovers, canoeists, hunters, sailors nor history enthusiasts are going to be bored. Local forests are inhabited by rare and endangered species of  birds such as red and black kites, honey buzzards and black storks.There are 5 lakes in this area – Kochanowskie Duże, Kochanowskie Małe, Jeziorna, Sławskie and Tarnowskie Duże. The last two lakes together with coastal areas and the part of Mesze nature reserve belong to particularly protected areas. Every nature lover can take an unique trip using walking and cycle routes. 54,7% of Lubuskie’s territory is covered by forests. The environmental value of this region is increased by the existence of oxbow lakes with a precious complex of water plants. What is more, you can find here protected water lilies. Occasionally, in the oxbow lakes area, close to Przyborowo, you can find mud turtles which as an endangered species have been entered in “The Red Book of Animals”. Large forest complexes of Sławskie Lakeland are conducive to form animal refuges. Undoubtedly, it is an encouragement for hunting circles which organize periodic hunts here.
One of the most attractive cultural offers of Nowa Sól Commune is Lubięcińskie Reggulacje Letnie - called “Reggulator” – which is a Polish Reggae Music Festival. Near Kochanowski Lake, in a beautiful Lubięcin scenery, not only well-known artists, but also novice performers give their shows. They represent nearly all the varieties of the exotic music from Jamaica. “Reggulator” is an unique opportunity to welcome holiday in the reggae rhythm (June/July).

PLACES AND OBJECTS WORTH SEEING

• Lubięcin – Church of St. Catherine from 1372; Church of The Sacred Heart built in 1742 – 1747, near a bell tower with a bell from 1793; three windmills from the XVII/XIX century which are the hand-mills’ continuation, the oldest one from the year 1817 is one of the most interesting examples of industrial construction; Koźlak windmill from 1817 is one of the oldest in the Lubuskie province. Its name comes from the building`s base, which is a vertical axis, fixed on 4 crossed bales and tied up with them by means of braces. It is an object with a skeletal construction and the wind is its driving force.
• Rudno – Church of St. Jude Thaddeus from the second half of the XVIII century. In the XIX century, the fire consumed the church’s roof which was rebuilt in its original shape, indoor decorating mostly in baroque style of the 17th and 18th century. The church is surrounded by the stone wall from the 15th century, nearby there is also a bell tower from 1774.
• Stany – one of the longest railway bridges in Europe from the beginning of the 20th century.
