Dobiegniew Commune is located in the north-east part of Lubuskie Voivodeship in Strzelecko – Drezdenecki County. Attractive features of the landscape, numerous lakes and local woodlands are conducive to recreation and to spend your free time actively. The location of the commune is ideal due to its surroundings that are a natural recreation base for metropolitan areas – it is easy to reach the place by train or by car from Szczecin or Poznan. The main road no. 22 enables transport with Gorzow Wielkopolski, Berlin and the northern parts of the country. Lakes dominate in the landscape of the region. The most beautiful and the largest lakes are: Osiek (540 ha), Ostrowieckie (385 ha), Radęcino (179 ha), Wielgie (147 ha). Most of them have well maintained beaches and campsites. There are many species of fish: pikes, pike-perches, vendaces, tenches, common whitefish. The lakes and the surroundings of Dobiegniew commune are a real paradise for anglers and for those of you who appreciate close contact with nature. A few rivers flow through a territory of the commune. One of them – Drawa – is a river of a diverse landscape and a diverse bed. For tourists who are interested in active leisure, we offer canoe trips on one of the most picturesque water trails in Poland. The immediate surroundings of Dobiegniew are very green thanks to numerous forests (about 60% of the commune area). Coniferous and mixed forests dominate in that area. There are also forest complexes of Drawska Forest [Polish: Puszcza Drawska] with natural parts of pine forests, as well as beech and oak ones. Blueberry and mushroom pickers will find here something for their liking, and hunters will surely return for a successful hunt due to the fact that forests are full of deer, roe deer and wild boars. Horse riding enthusiasts will find here ideal conditions for this form of recreation. Mierzęcin Palace, a recreation and conference centre of high quality, located near Dobiegniew, has prepared an attractive offer concerning a ride on a carriage or on horseback. • Hydroelectric power plant  - the oldest, still working hydroelectric power plant in the world.

• Woldenberg Museum – a former camp for Polish officers, prisoners of war (II C Oflag).

EVENTS ORGANIZED CYCLICALLY DURING THE TOURIST SEASON:

• International Youth Football Tournament – Kazimierz Górski memorial Dobiegniew Cup, 21- 27 July, young football players enjoy the event very much. Organizers offer a wide range of cultural events and the end of the tournament is a big music fest with a fireworks display.
• Horse Day celebrations and Open Fire Cooking Championship, Mierzęcin Palace, an open-air event, 31 May. Horse riding presentations, concerts and a dance.
• “Watra Łemkowska” in Ługi, 25-26 July, an open-air event when culture and customs of Łemkowskie community are presented. Great atmosphere as well as dancing and singing till dawn cause that Ługów is visited by a greater number of tourists.
• Picnic of Senior Clubs “ And apple trees are blooming again ... “, Ługi, 14 June, presentation of cultural achievements and traditions of the region, a feast around a bonfire, folk music and dance.
• Days of Głusk, Tourist Families Gathering, Głusko, 17-20 July, a two-day event in the middle of the Drawno National Park. Tournaments, games and competitions. The canoe trip on the Drwa River and many other attractions.
