Kruszwica is located in Kujawsko – Pomorskie Voivodeship, in the western part of the Kujavia region, in Inowrocław County. It is an important tourist centre of the region. On a territory of the commune, there is the “Lake Gopło Millenium Park” [Polish: Nadgoplański Park Tysiąclecia] - a unique, on a country scale, ornithological and landscape park. It covers an area of farmlands, meadows, forests, bogs and wastelands as well as Gopło Lake. The location of the town creates perfect conditions for active leisure. There is a number of rowing competitions organized on Gopło Lake, for example: University Championship, Season-Opening Regatta for juniors, Junior Championship, Yacht Race “Polish Cup in Omega class”. What is more, there are numerous sports clubs in the town.

MONUMENTS
The most valuable historic monument of Kruszwica is a Gothic tower dating back to the XIV century, called a Mysia Tower [Mouse Tower]. It is an octagonal tower, 32 meters in height, which together with the ruins of town walls constitutes the remains of a defensive castle founded by Kazimierz Wielki. Each tourist who visits Kruszwica climbs up to the top of the tower which is an excellent viewpoint on Gopło Lake. The Chakra in Kruszwica is worthy of special notice – a legendary stone of medicinal properties which is situated under the Mysia Tower.
On the eastern shore of Lake Gopło, there is a Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul erected at the beginning of the XII century, one of the best maintained monuments of a Romanesque architecture in Poland. In addition, on the western shore of Lake Gopło, there is an “old town” of Kruszwica that is concentrated around the rectangular market square, divided into two parts. One of the parts is a perfect place for various events and trade fairs. The another one has a recreational character, full of flowers and shrubs is a favourite rest place of the town’s inhabitants. On the eastern frontage of the market square, there is a Church of St. Theresa erected in the years 1926-1929.
